Ian White will continue as president and chief executive officer of the Canadian Wheat Board for a two-year term effective Mar. 31.
“Mr. White has shown exceptional leadership during a time of significant transition for the CWB,” Federal agriculture minister Gerry Ritz said in a news release.
“He has my full support and confidence in continuing to lead the CWB as a voluntary marketing option for farmers during the transition period and in the preparation of a privatization plan,” said Ritz.
The CWB has a five member board of directors, which is appointed by the federal government. The president and CEO is appointed by Order in Council after consultation with the CWB.
