Saskatchewan agriculture is one of three ministries to partner with Tourism Saskatchewan to make the Saskatchewanderer a year-round job.

For the last three summers, a student has traveled the province and documented through videos and blogs what makes it a great place to play.

The government now wants the position to become year-round to show people what makes it a great place to live and work.

The ministries of agriculture, economy, and parks, culture and sport will join with the crown corporation to expand the project through a pilot project.

Russia’s top agriculture official blames low global grain prices for export slowdown

Low global prices for grains, Russia’s main agricultural commodity, have caused a sharp fall in exports in recent months.

The next Saskatchewanderer will shoot and edit YouTube video blogs, write blogs for a website and upload content to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

“Being a part of the Saskatchewanderer program is an opportunity for the agriculture industry to be seen for what it really is — a progressive, vibrant industry,” said agriculture minister Lyle Stewart. “It also allows us to tell the complete Saskatchewan story, that this is a province of opportunity with a great quality of life.”

Applications for the position open Nov. 4 at noon and close Dec. 2 at noon at www.saskatchewanderer.ca.
