Ontario beekeepers had a difficult winter, where half their hives didn't survive or didn’t have enough bees to become viable colonies. The Prairie provinces did a bit better, with Manitoba and Alberta beekeepers suffering colony losses of 39 per cent and 34 per cent respectively.
