Manure separator
Houle of Canada has two new manure separators designed to allow operators to extract solids for later use and reduce capacity needed for
liquid storage by up to 20 percent.
The roller separator is made for scraped barns.
Manure slurry is pumped through a collector to catch stones and debris and then into a hopper where a roller separator squeezes out the solids, returning the liquid for storage.
The two reinforced 14-inch diameter by 72 in. stainless steel screens and a 15.5-in. rubber-coated roller work in tandem.

VIDEO: Green Lightning and Nytro Ag win sustainability innovation award
Nytro Ag Corp and Green Lightning recieved an innovation award at Ag in Motion 2025 for the Green Lightning Nitrogen Machine, which converts atmospheric nitrogen into a plant-usable form.
For flushed barns, the sloped screen and roller separator handles up to 500 gallons per minute.
The liquid is pumped to an eight-foot square sloped screen that removes most of the solids, which slide into a roller separator where they are squeezed down to 75 to 80 percent moisture.

Feed software
Digi-Star has introduced a new feed management software package, the TMR Tracker, for dairy farms.
The system tracks ingredient use, inventory levels, dry matter intake, feed costs and operator accuracy.
It produces customized reports and graphs to allow the operator to analyze feeding and pinpoint costs and potential savings.
The Tracker works with the TCX 1300 indicator from Digi-Star, providing a complete hardware and software package.

Progesterone device
Vetrepharm has introduced the CIDR-B, an intravaginally administered, sustained release progesterone device for estrus synchronization in beef cattle.
The unit is a T-shaped device coated with progesterone that is impregnated in a silicone rubber elastomer molded over a nylon spine.
The wings of the device fold forward to permit insertion using a specially designed applicator. The insert releases progesterone over time when exposed to body temperature and a moist environment.
The CIDR-B is inserted for seven days with prostag-landin administered on day six. The animal is inseminated once estrus is detected, from two to four days after the device is removed.

Tractor grapples
ImpleMax Equipment has a new farm series of grapples to fit on tractors with more than 30 horsepower and either a category one or category two three-point hitch.
The grapples are designed to handle logs, brush and debris.
There are four models, two with hydraulic winches, a 9,000-pound and a 12,000-lb. model.

Headlight booster
Diesel Services Group is marketing the dieselPro Headlight Booster kit, designed to improve headlight brightness on certain GM pickups and cars by 40 percent or more.
The standard design of the headlight wiring harness on these vehicles results in a two-volt drop between the battery and the headlight bulbs. This causes a 40 percent loss in brightness.
The dieselPro harness is designed to eliminate this problem, and is heavy enough to allow the use of higher capacity bulbs.
DSG recommends 9005/HB3 bulbs producing 100 watts. Other options produce even more light.
