Sampler covers the bin

Dick’s Samplers, maker of remote control bin samplers, has introduced a sampler for the cone part of hopper bins.

It takes a sample from about 30 centimetres (one foot) inside the mounting point, past the chaff and lighter material at the edge of the bin.

By pushing on the sampler you get grain; by pulling you shut it off.

It can be locked.

The maker says it is particularly useful in dryer bins to help get average moisture content for the entire bin.

The product is available at Flaman sales centres. For more information phone write to Dick’s Samplers, Box 41, Brock, Sask., S0L 0H0 or phone 800-379-0151 or fax 306-379-4405.

Dense baler

Claas of America has come out with a new family of balers that produce dense bales for high quality feed.

The Rollant 250 balers feature a new system that increases bale density without the need for more power.

The maximum pressure system consists of three rollers at the top of the bale chamber forming a hinged segment.

The rollers drop down into the chamber at an early stage, causing bale rotation to begin early and compression to set in faster, resulting in hard bales.

The unit can also be equipped with a computer monitor.

It has a two-metre (83-inch) pickup, lateral pickup augers and a feed-assist rake.
