Seeder kit

Simon Enterprises has introduced the In Seconds Kit that allows operators to quickly switch the pipes on air seeders from double to single.

Instead of spending up to an hour doing the conversion, the kit allows the operator to make the switch in seconds and without tools.

The inventor is also interested in talking to manufacturers and distributors.

For more information write Simon Enterprises, Box 52, Tramping Lake, Sask., S0K 4H0, or call the company at 306-755-2080 or fax 306-755-2024.

Backhoe/excavator

Ramrod Equipment, a division of Leon’s Manufacturing, has introduced a new Ramrod backhoe and stabilizer kit.

The backhoe mounts in place of a bucket to transform the Ramrod Mini-Skid into an excavator.

Joy stick controls, adjustable cushion seat and safety transport locks are standard. Rear stabilizers are available to improve performance in tight spaces.

The new stabilizer kit allows the stabilizers to be folded backward, forward and sideways in five different positions. They can also be folded over the tires to provide a narrow unit while driving.

Another feature is the dozer blade attached to the centre of the backhoe. It acts as a stabilizer while digging and can be used to push dirt into the trench.

For more information, contact a Ramrod dealer or write the company at Box 5002, Yorkton, Sask., S3N 3Z4, phone 800-667-1581 or visit the website at www.ramrodequip.com.

Mower-conditioner

New Holland has combined its Discbine mower-conditioner technology with its Speedrower self-propelled windrower.

The new 166 horsepower self-propelled model HW340 Discbine disc mower-conditioner has a 12-disc modular cutterbar that makes a 15.5 foot cut (4.7 metres.)

Each disc is an independent module that can be easily repaired or replaced. They are designed to handle tough, tangled and wet crops.

A 20-in. (50 centimetre) auger delivers crop into the 8.5 foot (2.6 m) chevron-designed inter-meshing rubber conditioning rolls. The torsion bar roll pressure system provides crop conditioning and drydown.

There is a power reverser that allows the operator to back out slugs from the cutterbar and conditioning rolls without leaving the cab.

When not needed, the conditioning rolls can be removed. Also, the cutterbar can be replaced with a New Holland 2300 series sickle bar cutterhead in about 30 minutes.
