Pull-type sprayer
Summers Manufacturing Co. has introduced an improved pull-type Supersprayer.
The unit features the following:
- A 4,436-litre rinse tank to allow rinsing of spray booms in the field.
- A multi-hole spreader bar clevis attachment, allowing easier installation of spreader bar for extended transport distance.
- Two and a half inch cold rolled axles on locking boom wheels with a Nylatron bushing.

The unit has a large shank and blade for field and landscaping tasks.
The latest use is in drainage. The manufacturer says the shank creates a deep trench only two inches wide, allowing sloughs and potholes to drain gradually, saturating the trench instead of washing out as with a v-plow.
The manufacturer also says the shank can be used to contour knolls. Trenching in a spiral motion allows rain to seep in rather than erode the hill.
The hydraulically operated unit comes in a range of sizes, with blades from seven to 14 feet wide and shanks 18 inch to 36 inches.

Ultra Scan 45 detects sows at least 20 days pregnant.
Ultra sound for pigs
S.E.C. Repro Inc. has introduced the Ultra Scan 45 for ultra sound pregnancy detection in sows.
The unit can detect pregnancy anytime after 20 days. It indicates pregnancy in five seconds and takes 30 seconds if the test is negative.
The package includes scanner, bag, a charger and battery.
