Box spreaders

Kuhn North America Inc. of Brodhead, Wisconsin, has released a new line of Pro-Spread Commercial apron box spreaders.

Designed for use as truck mounted or tractor pulled units, these machines are targeted at agricultural operators who require high-capacity, heavy-duty spreading of solids, such as the cattle feeding industry and its contractors.

The PSC series models combine welded construction with a friction-resistant poly floor and split-apron drive. A hydraulically controlled, variable-speed apron enables even spreading of pen pack, feedlot and dairy manure and other solid materials.

Nytro Ag Corp and Green Lightning recieved an innovation award at Ag in Motion 2025 for the Green Lightning Nitrogen Machine, which converts atmospheric nitrogen into a plant-usable form.

The spreaders accept horizontal and vertical beaters and include three models with capacities of 610, 710 and 810 heaped cubic feet. The machines have a 25 to 30 foot spread pattern and an optional scale system to monitor application quantities when managing manure’s nutrient value.

Automated steering

Lieca Geosystems has introduced a retrofit application for older equipment that adds automated steering to machines that don’t have built-in electric over hydraulic controls.

The unit uses a steering-column-mounted friction wheel to drive the steering wheel. QuickSteer motor and GPS Mojo consoles can be moved between vehicles, allowing one system to be used on multiple machines.

The QuickSteer is used in conjunction with Lieca’s MojoGlide console for six to eight inch accuracy, or the MojoRTK auto-steer system for increased accuracy and repeatability.

The motor features an integrated Can-Bus interface to reduce cab clutter. The Mojo console provides nine-axis terrain compensation to improve accuracy when driving across sloping terrain.

The kit sells for $3,200 US and requires the company’s GPS or RTK system to support it.

Smaller grader

Bobcat has created a smaller version of the Patrol grader, complete with laser guidance for quarter-inch accuracy.

The combination of a heavy-duty grader on a skid steer loader will move as much material as a small, dedicated dozer, says the North Dakota company.

Bobcat’s design offers six options, including a three stage adjustable mould board, to accommodate different materials and machine speeds.

A side to side moveable blade allows for fine adjustments without having the machine leave its track. A bolt-on end wing kit is available to turn the grader into a box blade.

This kit gives the grader two functions, eliminating the need for an additional attachment.

Using the grader with the box blade end wings enables the operator to carry more material when doing fine grading, especially sand and gravel.

The new 96 and 108 inch graders are approved by the company for use on Bobcat S300 and S330 skid-steer loaders, the Bobcat A300 all-wheel steer loader and the T250, T300 and T320 compact track loaders.

New discs

A new DH16 series from John Deere’s Frontier group is replacing the company’s pasture converting and corn stover mulching 637 Rigid Tandem Disc.

The heavy-duty steel blades on the DH16s have 130 pounds of weight per blade. The machines have 22 inch diameter blades on nine inch spacing and gang-angle adjustability.

Buyers can choose between notched or spherical blades with cast spools, depending on the application. Four models are available in 10, 12, 13.5 and 15 foot widths. The company rates the horsepower requirement of the 15 foot blades at 80 to 140 and 60 to 80 h.p. for the 10 foot blades.
