Irrigation pivot
Lindsay Manufacturing has added to its Greenfield line of small field irrigation products.
The Greenfield 4 Mini-Pivot is designed for fields of one to 60 acres.
It is made with a bowstring truss design that bolts together. The six bolt flanges are made of quarter-inch hot-dipped galvanized steel.
The company says leg attachment brackets and welds are computer modelled and field tested for stability and durability.
The worm drive gearbox is fully sealed and oil lubricated. The design features an in-line drive between the centre drive and gearbox to maximize drive train efficiency and longevity.

Gravity wagon
Frontier Equipment, a new business of John Deere, has launched an economical line of grain handling equipment, including gravity wagons ranging in size from 165 to 750 bushels.
The wagons have automotive type steering for better control and trailing.
They have rocking support, which reduces stress and wear on rough terrain, and a spring-assist, extendable tongue for easy hook up, the company said.
There are two standard inspection windows and an observation ladder.

Foot rot treatment
Nuflor, an injectable therapy for bovine respiratory disease that contains florfenicol and is manufactured by Schering-Plough Animal Health, has been approved by Health Canada to treat foot rot.
“Florfenicol, which is chemically similar to chloramphenicol, is a novel, broad-spectrum antibiotic compound that goes to work rapidly and lasts for a sustained period of time,” said Norm Machell, Schering-Plough’s veterinary services manager for Western Canada.
Nuflor reaches therapeutic levels in the bloodstream within 30 minutes of application. It can be used subcutaneously or intramuscularly.
Dosages for treating foot rot are the same as when treating bovine respiratory disease.

New Rival owner
Bayer CropScience Canada is selling its Rival brand trifluralin products to Nufarm Agriculture.
Bayer made the decision to allow it to focus more on its Liberty Link technology. Nufarm has taken over all marketing, sales and service for Rival products in Canada.
Nufarm also announced the introduction of a new grassy and broadleaf herbicide package for flax.
Elite is based on Poast Ultra grassy herbicide and Mextrol, a formulation of bromoxynil and MCPA ester. It is classified as a Group one, four and six product. A case controls 20 acres.
