GPS system
Autofarm’s new Farm Pro GPS system provides sub-inch RTK auto steering and combines that with Raven’s Viper Pro display and machine controls.
The portable, multiple roof top antennas, located on a single bar, are designed to give fine control of steering, with yaw and terrain slope compensation, while the Viper system provides variable rate control of up to five products and boom management for sectional shutoffs and height control for spraying.
It handles field boundary and guidance maps and also creates applied maps on the go.

New zero-till drill
Great Plains Manufacturing of Salina, Kansas, has applied its zero-till planter technology to a new 40 foot seed drill, the 3N-4010HDA.
Fitted with the 00HD opener, the drill is designed to provide precise seed and fertilizer placement based on high spring-loaded pressure, refined through active hydraulic down pressure. The variable spring rate ranges from 250 to 500 pounds.
A coulter opens the row, while the 15 inch discs create a seedbed. Three inch packers provide solid seed to soil contact. The drill frame wings flex from 20 degrees up to 15 degrees down. The pivoting, floating hitch tongue enables the drill to remain level with the soil, independent of the tractor.
The drill transports at five metres wide.
The unit can be paired with the company’s 350 bushel, two product cart for single pass applications. Compartmentalized meters allow each seed run to receive identical numbers of seeds under highly sloped conditions. The air cart drive can be equipped with two variable rate units for precision farming applications. For more information, visit www.greatplainsmfg.com or contact the company at 785-823-3276.
