Combine header

MacDon’s FD70 FlexDraper combine header won an ASABE AE50 award last year.

The units are available in 30, 35 and 40 foot sizes and can increase a combine’s productivity by up to 30 percent over traditional headers. A new system of balanced linkage for the three section frame reduces ground friction for better soil following in rough conditions.

The two section reel maintains a constant reel to cutter bar distance. The draper header flows grain heads first into the feeder housing of the combine without interruption or bunching, reducing shatter losses.

Mustard herbicide

Muster herbicide from DuPont Canada has received regulatory approval for use in oriental mustard.

It has also received approval for an extended window of application on sunflowers in the one- to eight-leaf stage.

Muster controls wild mustard, flixweed, hemp nettle and smartweed in oriental and brown mustard, and suppresses stinkweed in mustard. In sunflowers, the extended window of application provides growers with greater flexibility.

Muster is also registered to control broadleaf weeds in conventional canola and can be tank-mixed with Assure II for one-pass grass and broadleaf control.

Spring wheat, durum, barley, oats and flax can be planted 10 months after Muster has been applied.
