New Bobcat skid steer

The new Bobcat S100 skid-steer loader replaces the Bobcat 553.

With a narrow, 50 inch width, including the bucket, it can work in tight quarters.

In addition to its 1,000 pound rated operating capacity, the S100 loader features a four cylinder, 33.5 horsepower diesel engine and a lift height of 8.5 feet.

The S100 comes with the standard Bob-Tach attachment mounting system that enables operators to switch between attachments in less than a minute and requires no additional assistance or tools.

Chemistry fights drought

AgroFresh has announced the release of Invinsa, a new chemistry that protects crops against heat and drought stress.

Over the past two years, AgroFresh and university researchers have conducted trials using Invinsa in corn, soybeans, cotton and sun-flowers. Results showed up to 20 percent higher yields with Invinsa compared to the untreated control.

Protecting plants from ethylene, a naturally occurring substance produced by all plants, is the key to this new technology.

Invinsa prevents ethylene-induced stress responses, which allows the crop to continue growing during periods of environmental stress. Ethylene prompts flowers to abort, leaves to age and other negative effects.

AgroFresh has become a leader in ethylene management through its proprietary 1-MCP technology under the SmartFresh Quality System. This was first used in 2001 to enhance fruit quality.

AgroFresh is a subsidiary of Rohm and Haas. For more information, visit www.agrofresh.com.

Milker controls

New technology offered by Westfalia Surge provides dairy producers with more options to improve parlour performance.

The new equipment – DeMax and DemaTron detachers and milk meters – provides simple, convenient controls in ergonomic designs suitable for new or existing parlours.

They offer protected, multi-function electronics, where one master electronic interface operates up to four parlour stalls with detacher cylinders, pulsation control, milk sensing and vacuum shutoff and control valves. The master electronic enclosure is located inside the cabinet or in the subway so it stays clean, dry and out of the way.

A one-button control starts milking or wash operations while maintaining the ability to use manual functions for individual cows.

Vacuum is programmed on a delay to allow for better vacuum stability at attachment. Operators can view pulsation settings and manually adjust stimulation time to meet specific cow needs.

Spray tip

The new TeeJet Air Induction XR Flat Spray (AIXR) nozzle produces reduced driftable droplets at higher pressures and provides drift control without compromising coverage.

The nozzle uses an air induction design to produce large air-filled drops that stay on target and cover the entire plant.

The AIXR is designed for pre-emerge surface-applied herbicides, post-emerge systemic herbicides and post-emerge contact herbicides.

The AIXR tip is made from a polymer material that provides long wear life and acid-resistance, a wide operating pressure range of 15 to 90 psi (one to six bar) and tip colour-coding in compliance with the ISO standard for easy capacity identification.

New Valmont 7000 pivot

Valmont Irrigation has announced a new irrigation structure called the Valley 7000 series.

The 7000 is designed for less demanding fields while offering

the durability of Valley gearboxes, cams, control panels and communication options.

The lighter structure does not fit every application. When field conditions demand heavy duty equipment, the 8000 series continues to be the recommended centre pivot.
