New Holland flex header
New Holland’s new 74C flex header fits both the CR9000 Series twin rotor combines and the CX8000 Series super conventional combines.
The 74C flexible auger cutter bar header is available in three cutting widths, up to 35 feet. Each is equipped with a twin-knife drive.
The header offers a choice of 1.5-inch knives and guards (twin cut) or three-inch knives and guards. It also provides up to 4.5 inches of float and closely follows the ground contour to pick up low-growing crops.

Farming Smarter receives financial boost from Alberta government for potato research
Farming Smarter near Lethbridge got a boost to its research equipment, thanks to the Alberta government’s increase in funding for research associations.
The New Holland Terrain Tracer header flotation system is standard equipment. It follows the ground contour in rough, uneven fields.
It automatically tilts the header laterally to follow the ground contour and raises the head vertically. If the combine dips into a gully one wheel at a time or crosses a deep tire track, the header remains on the ground to get all the grain.
Terrain Tracer is offered for all New Holland direct cut, auger-type headers and corn heads.

New Clearfield canolas
BASF recently announced four new cultivars of Clearfield canola, including two new hybrid and two new open-pollinated varieties. All four will be available for the 2007 growing season.
In trials this summer, hybrids 45P70 from Proven Seed and 45H73 from Pioneer Hi-Bred each yielded 119
percent of checks.
These hybrids offer early-to-mid season maturity and resistance to blackleg and fusarium wilt.
SP Force CL from Saskatchewan Wheat Pool is a medium-tall, open-pollinated variety that offers mid-season maturity and yielded 105 percent of checks.
5843 CL from the German seed company DSV is one of few open pollinated varieties to rate excellent for lodging resistance. It’s medium-tall and offers mid-season maturity.
Two Clearfield Nexera varieties are under development and may become available for the 2007 growing season.
Sunflower kit
Brandt Agricultural Products Ltd. brings a solution to sunflower producers wanting to handle that commodity more efficiently – its new Sunflower Kit for 5000 and 5000 EX GrainVacs.
Brandt’s Sunflower Kit improves the performance of the 5000 and 5000 EX GrainVac when handling sunflowers. The seed’s low density previously made moving sunflowers by grain vac difficult. The new kit directs the flow of sunflower seeds into the discharge auger and uses the self-cleaning screen over the auger as an air diffuser to improve the GrainVac’s efficiency.
The auger screen and inlet cover can be removed without tools so that switching between commodities is easy. The type or size of the sunflower seed will determine which of the two included screen sizes , 1/8 and 3/16 inch, should be used. The sunflower kit is not for use when moving other commodities because seed damage and unnecessary wear of the auger screen could occur.
