Auger mover
Brandt Industries has introduced the Trakker, an auger mover that allows one-person auger moving.
Farmers can install the Trakker on most grain augers. Its 38 cm (15-inch) steel-cleated track moves the auger through mud and snow. A joy stick allows the user to move the track in any direction, giving the operator an unobstructed view of the intake and discharge ends of the auger.
A self-contained hydraulic system raises and lowers the intake end of the auger. An optional hydraulic worm gear winch is available to raise and lower the discharge end. A free video is available by calling 1-800-548-6844.

Getting the last kernels
Larry Stark of Mossbank, Sask., has designed The Boot, an implement that allows farmers to easily move the remaining 30 or 40 bushels of grain from bin to truck using an auger. The Boot is made of industrial-strength plastic – no straps, bolts or clamps – that will fit an auger up to 23 centimetres (nine inches). Weighing four kilograms (8.5 pounds), it measures 82 cm long, 31 cm wide and 41 cm high. As a safety precaution, grain is scooped into The Boot through six holes measuring eight cm in diameter. A five-cm lip across the bottom of The Boot prevents spillage. The hopper is slanted to one side, allowing better movement of grain.
When the bin floor is clean, the remainder of the grain can be dumped directly from The Boot into the truck. The auger must be shut off before installing or removing the unit. It is being sold for $55 plus GST and shipping. Contact: Larry Stark, Ardill Feeders, Box 415, Mossbank, Sask., S0H 3G0; tel. and fax. 306-354-2604.
