Lawn mowers

Massey Ferguson’s ZT29 and ZT33 hydrostatic drive grass mowers are ideal for farms and ranches with large areas of lawn.

The riding mowers are designed for maximum rider comfort and include high back seats, arm rests, seatbelts and a standard roll-over protection system.

The mower can be raised to a 90 degree position for improved manoeuvreability and easy storage in small spaces. Steering levers control forward and reverse directions at each wheel, providing better control around trees, buildings and tight areas.

Deck height is controlled with a hand lever beside the seat or with a hydraulic lift lever.

Floating fence posts

Slough Stick is a floating fence post that is buoyant enough to hold up at least two strands of barbed wire while floating in sloughs, lakes and ponds.

The floating fence posts reduce the time and money spent replacing or fixing traditional fences when water has lifted wooden fence posts out of the ground.

The floating fence posts are also stable enough to hold the fence up during high winds and extreme weather conditions.

The Slough Stick was tested on the Prairies last year to ensure optimal performance in all types of weather and conditions. Spaced approximately every 25 feet, they can span any length of water and will rise and fall with changing water levels in sloughs and ponds.

Once clipped to the Slough Sticks by using a conventional insulator, the fence never has to be adjusted or repaired and can be left in the water year round. The Slough Stick can also be used for swath grazing or as a portable dry land fence post. It is stable enough to set on the ground and can be moved in minutes to contain grazing animals.

Slough Sticks are manufactured in Punnichy, Sask., by Jaddak Creations. For more information, call 306-835-2427 or 866-314-1819.

Mower conditioner

John Deere’s TMC-190 Mower Conditioner is designed for large hay producers who need an efficient hay conditioning system.

The TMC-190 has a 30-foot cutting width. Its cutting platform can be used to convert John Deere self-propelled forage harvesters into a new class of economical mower conditioners.

The cutting platform can be used on 7300, 7400 and 7500 John Deere self-propelled forage harvesters and older model 6000 Series SPFHs. The mower conditioner easily mounts to the front of the SPFH, in place of the cutterhead assembly and combines three modules on a foldable main frame to deliver a 30-foot cutting width.

The TMC-190 folds to less than a 10-foot width for easy transport and manoeuvreability on public roads. The mower conditioner can be hooked to the SPFH in less than two hours and is designed with an easy tilt angle that can be adjusted from the cab.

Using the SPFH hydraulics, the mower conditioners have a fast response time in raising and lowering the cutting platform, which enhances turns on the headlands. The TMC-190 has a top suspension system that allows the conditioner to float over uneven ground contours.

Disc mower

Case IH has added three new models to its line of disc mowers for cutting hay and forage crops. The MDX21, MDX31 and MDX41 are four-, five- and six-disc models that come in widths of five feet six inches, six feet nine inches and seven feet 11 inches, respectively.

The new mowers combine rugged, reliable construction and new features that can improve productivity. All three models feature ground-hugging, oval shaped discs with two knives per disc.

The disc cutters are ideal for cutting in tough, heavy and wet conditions. The heavy-duty knives are double-edged, reversible and protected by sturdy rock guards and skid shoes. These features ensure durability, a clean cut and less down time for maintenance and repairs.

An adjustable flotation spring allows the operator to change the ground pressure applied to the cutter bar and a spring-loaded breakaway hatch protects the cutter bar if the cutter path is obstructed.

The MDX series has a 540 rpm pto driveline with an overrunning clutch, designed for easier hookup. The simplified three-point hitch with adjustable park stands and storage support for the pto shaft makes hook-up and transportation easy.

The mowers require a cabbed tractor with a 35 to 50 hp pto rating. For more information, write to Case IH, 700 State Street, Racine, Wisconsin, 53404, U.S.A., or visit www.caseih.com.
