Closing off fans

Aerotech has introduced a new line of insulated closure panels for unused ventilation fans.

The panels feature a three-quarter inch polystyrene foam insulation board sandwiched between layers of double-walled white plastic.

Sizes fit shutter openings of nine to 48-inch Aerotech fans and most competitors’ models.

The panels seal out the cold when the fans are not used and protect motors and propellers from dirt and condensation.

Three jacks offered

Fulton Performance Products has introduced a line of heavy-duty square tube jacks.

The Magnum series of jacks are built of high tensile, telescoping structural steel tubing. They come in 3,500 lb., 5,000 lb. and 7,000 lb. capacities.

Gears are located within the outer tube to protect them from rust and gear separation.

Options include topwind and side-wind handles and a caster adapter plate for use with industrial strength casters or footpad, with or without the mounting tube attached.

The 7,000 lb. model also features a drop leg extension system which telescopes the jack to a height of 51 inches.

Stop bloating

Pfizer Animal Health has reintroduced Bloat Guard to the Canadian marketplace after a one-year absence.

Bloat Guard is available as a medicated top dressing feed premix.

Its active ingredient is poloxalene, which works by reducing the surface tension of foam bubbles in the rumen. The bubbles burst and release their gas. This relaxes the esophagus and allows the gas to pass safely out of the rumen.

It can be fed to all cattle including lactating dairy animals with no withdrawal period. Potency is unaffected by pelleting and remains stable at temperatures up to 37 C.
