Bale wagons
Two new self-propelled New Holland bale wagons feature automatic transmissions and power steering, and are sized to meet the needs of large acreage hay-growers or custom operators. Six-cylinder, 7.5 litre Genesis engines provide high horsepower and fuel economy.
Turbochargers reduce power loss at high altitudes. Both machines pick up, load, haul and stack bales.
The model 1095 has a long frame and load rack for two-wide stacks of 16 x18 two-tie, high-density bales and a variety of three-tie bales.
The model 1089 handles 14 x 18 or 16 x 18 bales for three-wide stacks.

Dual controls provide ample hydraulic power: an open-centre system handles the power steering and cross conveyor; a closed-centre system powers the bale tables, load rack and stacking.
RapidRack control lets operators control the load rack, rolling rack and push-off feet when stacking with a single lever.

Protect bales
A new high tech tarp protects hay from the elements and inhibits rotting, mould and mildew. The Poly-Tec round bale tarp from Walk Winn Co. keeps hay dry.
The tarp’s silver-grey color reflects sunlight, minimizing heat build-up and condensation.
The Poly-Tec is UV-stabilized and mildew-resistant and waterproof, even to snow and ice.
Triple-layer six mm laminated plastic is rip-stopped every six mm to keep tears or punctures from spreading.
The tarp measures 9.2 x 3.8 m (30 x 45 feet) and covers 60 round bales.
Moveable tiedowns
Thirty movable tie-downs do not need grommets for attachment, so the user can place them wherever they are needed. Seven 15 m (50 ft) lengths of nylon rope allow secure tie-down. Contact: Phaff Performance Products, 3027 New St., Unit A, Burlington, Ont., L7N 1M5. tel. 905-637-5159.
Warm hands
The Therm-O-Muff handwarmer from Walk-Winn has elastic cuffs and is equipped with a self-activating heat packet.
The packet gives off 18 hours of 65¡C heat. Extra heating packets can be stored in a zippered pocket.
A strap allows the muff to be secured around the waist. The muff is available in olive drab green, burgundy and a camouflage pattern.
