Upgraded grinders

Case Corp. has introduced two new grinder-mixers, the 1260 and 1360, which replace the 1250 and 1350. Improvements have been made to the frame, drives, mixing tube support and discharge auger bearing support of the machines.

The vertical on the discharge auger has been increased to 73 centimetres. The 1260 has a tank capacity of 105 bushels, while the 1360’s capacity is 150 bushels.

Thirteen screens allow selection of a precise grind size for rations being mixed by the hammer mills in the machines. The discharge auger on the 1260 has a horizontal operating arc of 324 degrees; the 1360 swings 316 degrees.

Field sprayers

Bourgault has developed a new line of high-clearance, auto-fold sprayers for 1996.

The lineup features three tank sizes with spraying widths from 22.5-40 metres. The model 1850 has a 1,610 imperial gallon (7,309 litre) main tank and can be fitted with an optional 200-gallon auxiliary tank. The 1450’s two tanks have a capacity of 1,250 (5,675 litres) and 175 gallons (795 litres); the model 950’s two-tank capacity is 833 (3,782) and 125 gallons (586 litres.) All models will accept the auxiliary tank for spot spraying.

The tank and its plumbing are add-ons that does not reduce the capacity of the main tank.

Other features include cable-assisted folding system and caster wheel toe-out lock to assist folding or unfolding in sloping land or rough field conditions; versatility in tight spots as either boom will fold back; adjustable pressure relief bypass valve and air chuck fittings to allow cleaning using compressed air. Sprayers are equipped with Wilger Combo-Jet nozzles. Each sprayer can also be equipped with Bourgault’s Clear-View Air Curtain II to reduce drift.
