Hay and forage equipment

Case IH has a new line of hay and forage equipment to replace the line it lost when it sold Hay and Forage Industries. Case had to sell its interest in Hay and Forage as part of the Case-New Holland merger.

The new line includes round, square and rectangular balers, mower-conditioners, self-propelled windrowers and a pull-type forage harvester.

The mower conditioners offer a choice of rubber-on-rubber or steel-on-steel conditioning rolls.

Rectangular balers are available in standard, packer cutter and rotor cutter configurations.

Parallel swathing system

Trimble has a new parallel swathing system that uses the company’s global positioning system to help operators guide farm equipment in precise rows.

The EZ Guide 110 system includes a high performance GPS receiver contained in a rugged antenna, a light bar and remote keypad that can be mounted anywhere in the cab.

It can be upgraded to include, for example, variable rate fertilizer applications.

The LED light bar indicates which way to turn to stay on track. Its end-zone LED and audible alarm warns the operator of spray boundaries. EZ Guide accommodates odd-shaped fields by defining a custom headland zone.

Grain auger

Bergen Industries has introduced a new safe, durable grain auger.

The system is based on Bergen’s original 103/4 inch diameter auger, but the new HYD-Dr has no belts, pulleys, sprockets, chains or gear box.

The hydraulic drive auger has its own diesel power plant and self- contained hydraulic system.

The mover kit is controlled by a single lever joystick featuring forward, reverse and steering. The auger is raised with the touch of a lever and flyting operations are quick with the hydraulic control.

When changing varieties, the auger can be cleaned by touching the flyting control.

For more information contact Bergen Industries, Box 133, Drake, Sask., S0K 1H0, phone 800-463-2131 or fax 306-363-2266.

Global positioning system

SiteWinder from Terradox Corp. is a new concept in global positioning system guidance.

Designed for professional applicators, the SiteWinder uses a “synthetic vision” system to guide the operator along straight or curved parallel swaths regardless of light and visibility conditions.

It provides real time total acreage and acreage done counts, and navigates to the last spray point.

SiteWinder includes a flat screen, touch sensitive colour display module and a compact server with 300 MHz processor that is compatible with most sub-meter DGPS receivers.

The office software prints field maps and as-applied maps.
