Drive-over gate
Rachar Steel has introduced a new drive-over gate.
Designed by Hans Knudtson of Donalda, Alta., the gate folds flat when pushed by a bumper or tires, but not when a cow pushes against it. Once the vehicle passes, a spring-loaded tension system tilts the gate up again.
A shock absorber prevents the gate from closing too quickly. The design needs no power source.
The gate is strong enough to allow tractors and feed wagons to drive over it. It comes in three sizes from 3.7 to 4.9 metres (12 to 16 feet) wide.

Heater tester
Yoken Inc. has introduced the Plug Alive block heater tester.
Plug Alive can determine whether your vehicle’s block heater is working. If there is a malfunction, it can isolate where the problem is – at the outlet, in the extension cord or in the block heater. The unit’s lights show where there is live power.
Plug Alive can be used in any situation where it is not clear if electricity is getting through to a device.
The product is available at many hardware stores.

Tailings monitor
Agtron Enterprises Inc. has introduced a tailings monitor for use with the Case Tailings Sensor on Case combines.
The monitor prevents return elevator plugging. The LED bar graph shows the amount of material in the return elevator. The benefit provided by the monitor is enhanced grain quality by reducing excessive tailing volume and increasing productivity through accurate sieve adjustments. The kit comes with 6.1 metres (20 feet) of sensor harness and 1.5 metres (five feet) of wire harness on the monitor.

Mower
Vermer has introduced a centre-pivot, disc-style mower conditioner featuring dynamic three-point suspension for tough field conditions.
The DiscPro 830 cuts a 3.2 metre (10. 5 foot) swath from either side of the tractor. The DynaGuard Protection System protects the cutter bar, using springs to lift the header over obstacles.
The modular conditioning system can be equipped with free-swinging V-tines or an intermeshing steel roller conditioner, which features a roller tension breakaway arm that relieves pressure as the rollers separate to discharge plugged material.
