Slip-on shovel
George Loch has introduced a new slip-on shovel for air seeders and fertilizer applicators.
The two-inch (five centimetre) shovel has no bolts, and can be adapted to any high centre shovel.
The seed hose lies flat against the shank and is held by a non-slip clamp.
The fertilizer hose is in front of the shank protected by the ‘V’ design of the shovel.

Heavy duty discer
Thurston Manufacturing has introduced a new heavy duty discer for compacted soils.
The two disc gangs mounted fore and aft on the Blu-Jet Tillage Pro fractures compacted soils up to 16 inches (40 centimetres) deep with 20-30 inch (50-75 cm) shank spacing.
Both disc gangs, independently and hydraulically controlled, are equipped with 26-inch self-cleaning blades mounted on heavy, greaseable, six-bolt hubs with guarded triple lip reversed seals and positive hubcap retainers.
Convenient button-stop shank depth control makes it easy to fine tune for varying conditions.

Mapping software
Springhill Engineering has introduced new AIM Mapping Software for use with laptop computers.
The entry level package of field mapping and soil grid sampling software is virtually the same software that runs on Case Tyler’s AIM navigation system.
The field mapping program can map complex field boundaries with multiple features.
The soil gridding program allows users to select the size of grid and to shift it to suit the shape of the field.
It has features such as five-level zoom and multiple screen views.
The package works with Windows ’95 and a differential GPS receiver connection.
In Canada, the distributor is Ramboc Enterprises with offices in Headingley, Man., Red Deer, Alta., and Saskatoon.
