Baler is moisture flexible

Agco Hesston has introduced a new round silage baler designed to handle various moisture levels in hay.

The Hesston 545 uses a low profile pick-up to lift the crop to the baler. It has four tine bars to improve the amount of fine material recovered.

The unit produces bales that are 46.5 inches (1.18 metres) wide. The diameter can range from 30 to 60 inches (.7 to 1.5 m) depending on the hay moisture level.

With dry hay, the unit will bale about 2,000 pounds (900 kilograms) an hour with a density of 16 lb. per cubic foot.
