Green air seeding
John Deere has added the new 735 air seeder and 737 air hoe drill to its growing line of air-seeding equipment.
The 735 handles a variety of jobs including deep-banding fertilizer, double-shooting seed and fertilizer, broadcast seeding and seeding in defined rows.
The 737, with its active down-pressure system at the large press wheels, provides consistent seed-to-soil contact over 100 percent of the seed row.
Both machines are available in 31-, 36- and 41-foot (9.5, 11 and 12.5 m) widths and row spacings of 7.5, 10 and 12 inches. The 735 also offers a 15-inch row spacing.

The second season of the the Western Producer’s documentary series about Ag in Motion launched Oct. 8.
The 735 can be equipped with C-shank openers with 550 lbs. (250 kg) of trip force.
A split-row opener with heavy-duty knife for 15-inch spacings is also available. This opener permits simultaneous placement of seed in paired rows with fertilizer placed below and between the rows. The two by 13-inch press wheels help gauge depth and ensure good seed-to-soil contact.
The 737 air hoe drill features a choice of a spring-cushioned hoe opener, (also used on the 9,400 series press-wheel drill) with 250 lbs. (113 kg) of trip force or the C-shank openers.
The down pressure at the press wheels is adjustable from 50 to 150 lbs. (23-68 kg) to match soil conditions.
A choice of steel press wheels for loose or rocky soils or semi-pneumatic wheels for heavy, moist soils is available.
Both machines employ a three-section, over-centre folding frame with 28-inches (71 cm) of under-frame clearance.
Factory shipments are scheduled to begin in November.
