New forage line

Case IH has a new line of pull-type mower conditioners, self-propelled windrowers and headers.

The mower conditioners offer a choice of rubber-on-rubber or steel-on-steel conditioning rolls.

The sicklebar mower conditioners are offered in centre pivot and conventional configurations. The SMX91 conventional model offers a nine-foot, three-inch cutting width.

The SWCX100 centre pivot base model can be equipped with a sicklebar header in 14- or 16-foot cutting widths.

The disc mower conditioners come in 10-foot four-inch, 13 foot and 15-foot seven-inch widths.

The WDX series of self-propelled windrowers come in three models . Draper headers are available in widths ranging from 18 to 36 feet.

Sicklebar headers are also available. They come in four widths from 12 to 18 feet.

The header torsion bar roll pressure system applies near-constant pressure for consistent conditioning no matter how thick the crop mat.

New windrower

The John Deere 4895 self-propelled windrower has many new features.

The sickle windrower has 115 horsepower and a planetary final drive with the industry’s highest torque rating.

The electrical system has a 120-amp alternator and 925 cold cranking amp battery. The cab has a new ergonomically designed seat and controls.

The 895 auger platform has two heavy-duty knife drives with more durable external and internal components.

The sickle platform has 10-inch diameter, 100-inch wide conditioning rolls in steel or molded urethane. The gear and shaft-driven rolls separate automatically when the platform is raised to clear plugs.

Rodent control

Rodex Industries has a product for controlling burrowing rodents such as gophers.

The Rodex 4000 is an applicator that injects a special mix of oxygen and propane into the rodent’s hole.

A built-in, self-contained ignition system ignites the mixture, instantly killing the rodent and collapsing the tunnel system.

For safety, there is a state-of-the-art check valve and flash arrester, stainless steel pressure sensor and separate time delay for proper ignition.

It comes with about 15 metres of hose, regulators, safety helmet, goggles and an instructional video.
