Stubble chopper
Buffalo Farm Equipment has introduced its Rolling Stalk Chopper. It is designed for spring preparation of corn ground, but may be used to chop or prepare field stubble prior to planting. The tool attaches to a three-point tractor hitch and the tractor speed controls its ground speed.
The implement is available in varying widths: from four-row, 30 inches (76 cm) to eight-row, 40 in. (101 cm), as either a single bar, double-bar rigid or double-bar flex for ground work in ridges and beds. Standard features include seven-by-seven-inch (17 x 17 cm) toolbar, hardened steel chopping knives and adjustable reels to control aggressiveness in chopping.

Additive for low-sulphur diesel fuel
Low sulphur diesel fuel, favored because of its lower particulate emissions, will become standard in Canada this year. Unfortunately, it does not offer sufficient lubricity for many pre-94 rotary fuel pumps. Prolonged usage can result in damage or premature equipment failure.
Radiator Specialty Co. has developed a line of performance additives that make up for lost lubrication to injectors and pumps. These products also improve peak power output, increase fuel economy and minimize emissions. They stabilize fuel by preventing oxidation and corrosion and absorb water to reduce icing.
A fuel conditioner, cold-weather conditioner with anti-gel and an injector cleaner are available. The new additives are poured in the tank. Dosage is one litre for every 475 litres of diesel.
