Disk ripper
John Deere has introduced a new disk ripper.
The model 512 is 6.9 metres (22.5 feet) wide. It has a combination of disk gangs and ripper shanks. The configuration of the front disk gang has been improved. The low concavity blades are set at a fixed 18 degree angle, making them less sensitive to speed and resulting in less soil being thrown.
The rear blade can be adjusted to 14 or 16 degrees depending on soil type and crop residue.
The walk-over wheels on the mainframe allow producers to run smoothly over rough ground, achieving a consistent working depth. The 512 folds to about 5.5 metres (18 ft.) for transport.
