Modern milking
The Westfalia Systemat Classic 300 Milker is designed for cows that give large volumes of milk at a high rate. Features include improved throughput, vacuum stability and reduced impact at the end of the teats, while providing 360-degree visibility.
Large diameter milk inlets measuring 16 millimetres are properly placed for correct alignment of the inflation on the teat, helping to reduce slips and squawks. The milker is available with automatic shut-off. If there is a kick-off, the milker turns off the vacuum to the cluster, preventing debris from being sucked into the milk line.

Automatic fountains
Ritchie Industries has introduced the WaterMaster 54, an automatic fountain designed for feedlots and dairies. The WaterMaster is built with impact-resistant polyethylene plastic. Urethane foam insulation is sealed inside the one-piece construction. Valves and tools are in their own compartment, isolated from cattle. No tools are needed to open the cover, which incorporates Ritchie’s patented wind seal.
A moulded overflow eliminates the need for a standing pipe and double-drain design allows draining into the overflow or to an open lot. Additional access openings on each end allow easy hook up to the water supply and drain systems.
The WaterMaster can be used in a constant flow application, or an optional heat package can be added to keep water open in cold weather. The Ritchie cattle valve delivers high volumes of water under pressure or can be easily adapted to a gravity system.
The smooth surface of the fountain is easier to clean than concrete and the drain plug fits the opening to the valve compartment so water can be saved while the fountain is being cleaned.
