Easier truck access
St. Front Enterprises Ltd. has developed a new extendible ladder for truck boxes. The ladder, made of 2.5 centimetre steel tubing, fits snugly against the truck box but when in use, the extendible section angles away from the box, allowing easy mounting.
The ladder comes in a 1.2 metre length, suitable for a three-ton box, and a 1.5 metre length for semi and hopper trailers.

Fungicide registered
Gustafson Inc. has received federal registration for a new broad-spectrum fungicide for seed and soil-borne diseases.
Baytan 30 provides early season control of powdery mildew in spring and winter wheat. It also controls loose smut, false loose smut, covered smut, bunt and leaf stripe in barley. It suppresses common root rot, scald, net blotch and take-all.
The product is directed at growers in the black and dark brown soil zones. Regions subject to foliar disease, irrigated or intensively managed lands and the higher moisture areas of Central Canada will also benefit.
Baytan 30 can be applied to seed that has already been treated with Vitaflo 280 to widen protection. Seed treatment service with the product will be available through certified Baytan applicators.
Quieter chainsaw
Stihl has introduced a quiet, gasoline-powered chainsaw. The Stihl 023L noise level is rated at 68 decibels, as quiet as an electric saw.
This was achieved by adding a quieter muffler and modifying the air filter cover. Also, a rubber grommet has been added to the cylinder cooling fins to channel air flow.
