New FlexDraper
MacDon’s new 974 FlexDraper is designed primarily for soybean harvesting, but is also suitable for crops where the terrain demands a flexible header. It handles cereals, canola, peas, lentils, grass seeds, mustard and other specialty crops.
It uses drapers rather than an auger to move crop into the combine’s feeder house, smoothing crop flow and allowing the threshing mechanism to operate more efficiently.
It delivers a cleaner cut, made possible by a C-shaped cutterbar, a low guard profile and contoured poly skids.

VIDEO: Green Lightning and Nytro Ag win sustainability innovation award
Nytro Ag Corp and Green Lightning recieved an innovation award at Ag in Motion 2025 for the Green Lightning Nitrogen Machine, which converts atmospheric nitrogen into a plant-usable form.
The FlexDraper’s reels can float with the sickle and gently lift the crop like a comb before cutting.
The header has a three-section frame that allows it to follow ground contours in a balanced floating action.
This is enhanced by a low-friction coil spring suspension system, which supports the weight of the header, and the 974’s Float Optimizer, which allows the header to automatically adjust flotation to ground conditions, eliminating the need for the operator to make constant adjustments.
It is available in 30 and 36 foot sizes.

Grain tank
Brandt Agricultural Products Ltd. has launched the VSF-X model grain tank for the Brandt VSF-X Bale Processor.
VSF stands for variable speed feed.
Available in 2004, its 25-bushel tank and smart control options provide maximum results under a wide variety of conditions.
The unit can apply grain supplement to a windrow.
Three options for auger flight control are available: direct drive from hydraulic motor to tractor; electric over hydraulic drive to tractor; and hydraulic motor driven through a hydraulic multiplier.
The auger is a 5.5 inch flight in a six inch outside diameter tube.
There is modular-style mounting behind the bale tub.

Seeder improved
Seed Hawk has made engineering improvements to the Seed Hawk opener assembly for 2003.
The new opener has a quick pin depth setting that changes the seed and fertilizer depth by exactly the same amount without the need for wrenches.
The spindle and hub packer bearings have been upgraded for longer life. The new design results in better residue flow and clearance.
It will be on display at the company’s fall seeding demonstration Oct. 23 at its facility north of Langbank, Sask.

Mineral feeder
The Koenders stock water trough that was published in the New Products section last week is not available. This is the item that should have appeared.
Koenders’ new mineral feeder is designed for cows, bulls and bison.
The CMC-MINFDR0-000 is 9.5 inches high and 34 inches in diameter with three compartments, each measuring 24 inches wide by 12.5 inches deep and 8.5 inches high.
A 1/4 inch rubber top with a rugged 3/8 inch centre rubber disc allows the animal to use its nose to lift the flap and access the minerals inside.
The circular shape allows the feeder to be moved easily. Indents on the sides allow for attachment to the ground. The feeders are stackable for reduced freight.
