Mike Zatylny, maker of the
Balemaster since 1985, has licensed Shortline Fabricating of Rose-dale, Alta., to
produce a round bale handler with telescoping arms.
Shortline will make the unit and sell it under a new name, the Topdeck.

Pentax Canada has introduced a new rugged hand-held computer for use with geographic information system software.
The GF-Fex21 Data Collector is based on the new Husky fex21 Windows-CE hand-held computer. It can be used in harsh weather. Pen or keyboard can be used for data entry.
Loaded in the computer is FieldWorker GIS software, previously available only for the Apple Newton operation system.
The software is available in professional and advanced versions, both compatible with most digital GPS receivers.

Skid loaders
New Holland has introduced a new line of skid steer loaders.
The LS series has the company’s super boom lift linkage with a vertical lift path that keeps the load in view at all times and provides superior forward reach at maximum lift height.
The units have a range of power from 32 to 83 horsepower. Maximum lift capacity ranges from 612 to 1,383 kilograms.
There have been several improvements to the hydraulic system.
The loaders can be customized with factory-installed options such as hand controls, back-up alarm, cab enclosures, high-flow hydraulics and cold weather operating gear.

The Cherokee self-propelled sprayer has a tank capacity of about 1,900 litres.
Self-propelled sprayer
Equipment Technologies has added the Cherokee to its Apache line of self-propelled sprayers.
The sprayer is designed for operations requiring a product tank capacity of about 1,900 litres (500 U.S. gallons).
It comes with a 110 horsepower Cummins diesel engine and can reach a speed of 45 km-h. Power is transmitted to the wheels by a two-speed hydrostatic transmission with joystick control that includes fingertip boom, foamer and product controls.
It offers 18 or 23 metre (60 or 75 foot) booms and features crop clearance from 122 to 147 cm (48 to 58 inches). The tires are 31.5 by 96.5 cm (12.4 by 38 in.) on the rear and 31.5 by 61 cm (12.4 by 24 in.) on the front. Wheel width is adjustable from 183 to 305 cm (72-120 in.)
There is air-bag suspension and cabs with air conditioning and heater.
