Twin rotor combine
New Holland’s new CR series twin rotor combines promise better grain
handling, tank capacity, ergonomic cab design and maneuverability.
Four models ranging in horsepower from 255 hp to 370 hp are available.
They are powered by a six-cylinder diesel, inter-cooled engine. All
models except the CR920 are electronically managed to shift power when
needed, so there’s no need to slow down when unloading.
Head attachments and hydraulics are on the left side, allowing the

operator to change heads quickly.
CR combines feature a self-leveling cleaning system. A unique grain pan
system stratifies grain, spreading it evenly as it feeds into the
cleaning sieve area.
The cleaning system is level at all times, eliminating the need for
grain pan dividers to keep the grain distributed.
A sensor reads changes in terrain and automatically levels the cleaning
system up to a 17 percent slope, to keep the combine running at peak
efficiency.
With no movement of free grain due to grain shifts caused by uneven
terrain, more grain is captured in the tank.
Tanks on larger models have a capacity of at least 300 bushels. For
unloading, 18 to 21 foot augers deliver grain at three bu. per second.
Rotor drives are robust and efficient, and the separating area of the
two rotors features spiraled, segmented and staggered fins for improved
crop flow and less material other than grain deposited on the cleaning
system.
A stone protection feature uses four sensors to differentiate rocks
from grain, and combines electronic detection with mechanical ejection.
The Harvest Suite cab has 95 cubic feet of interior space. Controls
move with the operator, contained in an inline, multi-function handle.
Servicing is made easier by gull-wing side shields that glide open on
gas struts, giving access to a lighted work area.

Transmission fluid
Petro Canada’s new Duratran synthetic transmission and hydraulic fluid
is designed for all season performance in agricultural machinery.
The manufacturer says it provides wider temperature protection than
major original equipment manufacturers’ summer and winter grades.
It exceeds John Deere’s summer JDM20C and winter JDM20D viscosity
specifications.
The company says using Duratran gives longer wear protection and
eliminates the need to switch fluids with the seasons.
It also has a new warranty guaranteeing the repair or replacement of
damaged equipment parts resulting from a failure due to defects of
Duratran.

New tractor series
John Deere’s new 7020 tractor series features four models with pto
horsepower ranging from 95 to 125.
The new infinitely variable transmission combines electronic engine
management and transmission control to provide seamless transmission
ratio changes from zero to 40 km-h.
A single lever controls the range of speeds and eliminates shifting on
the go. No clutching is required, even to stop.
The foot brake, with an integrated autoclutch, stops the tractor and
holds it stationary, even at full engine rpm.
The transmission also features a left-hand reverser that has integrated
park-lock, free-rolling neutral.
Another transmission option is the PowrQuad Plus with a left-hand
reverser.
Operators can choose between 30 or 40 kilometre transport speeds with
or without a creeper option.
The tractors have a redesigned body style and sloping front hood that
tilts open for engine access.
There is a dual-temperature cooling circuit. The radiator has been
divided into a high and low temperature cooling circuit that allows
higher efficiencies with a single fill point and overflow reservoir.
A new fan design supplies seven percent more air without robbing engine
horsepower. A high-efficiency pre-cleaner removes moisture and dirt
before entering the air filter. The air filter delivers 25 percent
higher levels of filtration performance.
There are two cab choices Ð ComfortGard Cab with PowerQuad Plus
transmission and mechanical selective control valves, and ComfortGard
Deluxe Cab that offers CommandArm, electro-hydraulic selective control
valves, low-frequency air suspension seat and the IVT transmission.
