Radiant brooder
Space-Ray Infrared Gas Heaters has introduced a new poultry brooder. The model SRB-40 is available in either natural gas or propane and has a capacity per hour of 40,000 BTUs. The brooder is designed to withstand the tough, dusty conditions found in poultry houses.
Components include a spun-steel canopy that reflects radiant heat into the primary brood area; an enclosed, insulated stainless steel emitter and a cast-iron burner assembly with large ports and an air filter. The emitter’s 60-degree angle and heat pattern concentrates heat in the primary brood area, saving fuel. Brooders can be placed every 7.6 to 12.3 metres (25-40 feet) and mounted 1.5 to 1.8 m (five to six ft.) above the floor. They are equipped with a 100 percent gas shutoff valve and flame failure safety device.

Cattle aids
Rodman Welding and Mfg. Inc. has introduced two new products for the cattle industry: the Rodman calf puller and the Rodman hip lift.
The calf puller gives a steady, even pull and can’t slip on the cow. Its opening has room for larger calves and has a rounded handle for safety.
The hip lift is lightweight and adjustable. Its threaded crank allows a snug fit around the animal and the centre lift hook is adjustable to the cow’s centre of gravity.
