Insect deterrent
BioSensory Inc. has a new environmentally friendly insect inhibitor for warding off mosquitoes and other biting insects. Conceal candles adhere to protocols accepted by the United States Department of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Agency.
In testing, people in the vicinity of Conceal candles experienced 90 percent fewer mosquito landings than people using citronella candles.
Conceal is an inhibitor, not a repellent. Mosquitoes avoid them and search for a target that smells more appealing. Conceal affects a mosquito’s olfactory sense, limiting its ability to find human targets. The Conceal inhibitor molecule is found in the essential oils of common plants and is widely used as a food flavouring.
