VIDEO: Green Lightning and Nytro Ag win sustainability innovation award

Nytro Ag Corp and Green Lightning recieved an innovation award at Ag in Motion 2025 for the Green Lightning Nitrogen Machine, which converts atmospheric nitrogen into a plant-usable form.

Ralgro Magnum provides an economic alternative to TBA implants in short keeps and a greater level of stimulation than conventional implants, the company says.

Each Ralgro Magnum implant contains 72 milligrams of the company’s growth stimulant, zeranol. That is twice the concentration of regular Ralgro. The product is packaged in strips of 10 implants for use with the new Dur-a-Tract implanting gun, which has a small, retracting needle.

New combines

John Deere has introduced a new family of combines – the 50 series.

In addition to improvements in the cab, header controls and residue handling, the combines have single tine separation, or STS harvesting.

Conventional rotaries typically feature a top cage that maintains the same diameter throughout the length of the rotor. This compresses crop material that reduces performance and might plug the combine.

Single tine separation has a three-step outer cage, the diameter of which increases in the threshing and separation sections.

This allows crop material to expand. Grain trapped in the crop mat is freed. Also, the free-flowing material places less torque on the tine separator, so less horsepower is required to maintain tine separator speed. There is also a new efficient cleaning system that matches the STS capacity.

The cab has an air suspension seat that can be inflated. The climate system can be set manually or use an automatic temperature control. Operators can select any of three preset header heights by pushing a button.
