74-foot air hoe drill
Bourgault Industries Ltd. has added two new models to its line of 5710 Air Hoe Drills. The 5710-70 AHD and the 5710-74 AHD are among the largest air hoe drills in the world.
The new models include the features of the current 5710 seeding systems but their larger sizes, 70 and 74 feet respectively, give farmers the ability to seed more acres in a day. The new Bourgault hoe drills use a patented technology that enables the drills to fold seven times for transport. The system is designed to ensure that linkages take the load, not the cylinders.

The unique folding design allows the 5710-70 and 5710-74 to meet the height and width dimensions required to safely transport the drill in most locations. In transport, the 5710-74 is 18 feet 11 inches (5.75 metres) tall and 23 feet 6 inches (7.16 metres) wide.
The main frame running gear features 16.5 x 16.1 10-ply FI tires mounted on 8,000 pound wheels and hubs. The inner wings use 11L x 15 six-ply FI tires, and the outer wings use 9.5L x15 six-ply FI tires. Inner and outer wing running gear are mounted on 6,000 lb. hubs and 3,000 lb. wheels. Walking axles are standard throughout on 70 and 74 foot air hoe drills.
Other features include single point depth control, a single turnbuckle on castors and packers for easy levelling and reduced maintenance with only 34 grease zerks, the same as the 64 foot 5710 AHD model.
The new drills are also designed to handle the weight of all series 25 mid-row banders. See a Bourgault dealer for details.
