Protective lens

Welders have a few more options for safety glass with the Speedglas XL lens. The lens turns dark the moment an arc is struck, and turns transparent when welding stops. This allows welders to precisely align their electrode before striking the arc. The lens has a 55 x 107 millimetre viewing area so welders can put their helmets down before squeezing into tight spaces. There are four different shade levels so the lenses can be used over a wide range of amperages.

The Speedglas XL meets Canadian Standards Association requirements for eye and face protection. The helmet itself weighs 18 ounces including the lens and adjustable headband.

Solar motion light

A solar-powered security motion light has been developed by Kelln’s Solar of Lumsden, Sask. The light consists of a lamp, battery, motion sensor and self-contained solar panel with its own mounting bracket. During the day, the solar panel collects sunlight and stores it as energy in the rechargeable battery.

At night, the quartz halogen light turns on when motion is detected, and turns off 30 seconds after no further motion is detected. The light is portable and can be used on grain augers, gates, barns and sheds, grain bins, gas tanks or simply to welcome visitors to the farmhouse. Features include daylight shut-off, 15-metre (50-foot) sensor range, and 30-second shut-off delay. The light will operate up to 10 days without sunlight.

Centrifugal blower

The Keho five horsepower Super Dyne Blower is designed to move large volumes of air through stored crop.

Precision air foil blades are individually weighted and assembled onto the six millimetre (one-quarter inch) aluminum wheel plates to provide a balanced blower wheel that contributes to longer bearing life.

The Super Dyne has peak efficiency from 6-10 inches of static pressure and will move air up to 14-inch water column pressure. The extra power is designed to accommodate the trend toward larger grain bins and crops like canola that require higher pressure to penetrate.
