Tougher tractors
Agco has added a new mid-sized chassis to its line of ST series compact utility tractors.
The ST30x Hydro and ST32 Hydro four-wheel drive tractors feature hydrostatic steering, independent rear and mid-mount PTO and high flow hydraulic systems.
The ST30x features a 1.45 litre three cylinder engine that produces 28.4 horsepower at 2,500 rpm.
The ST32 has a 1.5 L engine on a 116-inch chassis and is rated at 33 horsepower at 2,600 rpm.
Both models feature a cast iron drivetrain designed to outlast aluminum drivetrains that are common on other tractors in the 30-hp range.

Hydraulic dump spreader
The dump spreader by Westendorf Manufacturing Co., is the first all-hydraulic spreader on the market.
It uses electronic control to manipulate flow levels and is ideal for spreading liquid and semi-liquid materials.
Dual action expellers scoop and spread the material about seven metres.
The machine uses no aprons, chains, seals or tracks and is designed for worry free use in the harshest conditions.
The dumping action is designed to maintain a low centre of gravity for greater stability.
The gear on the spreader is tough and durable and the tongue has a built-in support that pivots out of the way for transport. Capacity is 270 cu. feet.

Wireless deer fence
The wireless deer fence is a patented deer containment system consisting of posts that can be placed at the perimeter of a pasture.
Each post contains a miniaturized charging circuit that maintains a voltage across bare wire electrodes located at the top of the device. Each post also emits a sweet scent that attracts deer and encourages them to touch the post.
When a deer touches a post, it receives an electrical shock. The deer associates the posts with the shock and avoids the perimeter areas where posts are placed.
The association between the scent of the post and the shock received discourages roaming, even in areas where the posts cannot be seen. Each post runs on a pair of AA batteries and is guaranteed by the manufacturer to be effective and safe.
