Snowblower attachment
MacDon has introduced a snowblower attachment for its windrowers.
The model 675 is designed to clear more than 3.5 metres of snow in a single pass.
The unit mounts on the front of the tractor and features on-the-go speed adjustments of its hydrostatic transmission.
A hydraulic, multi-directional discharge chute controlled from the cab directs the snow.
The tractor’s float and lift linkage allows the blower and adapter to ride independently of the tractor for better maneuverability over obstacles.

Straw cannon
Highline Manufacturing has introduced the Top Gun straw cannon. The unit helps to control manure smell by blasting barley straw onto storage lagoons.
The machine, developed by the Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute, can also be used for erosion control and in the sugar beet and poultry industries.
It shoots straw up to 30 metres through a hydraulically controlled spout, placing up to 25 centimetres of straw on the lagoon and providing up to three months of odor control.
It processes round straw bales up to two metres (six feet) in diameter with hydraulically driven feed rollers that adjust to any size of bale.
The balanced shredder flails are tempered spring steel. Bale forks load bales into the processor, eliminating the need for a second tractor and extra labor.
In ditches and land reclamation sites, the unit makes a straw bed that reduces soil erosion and helps establish vegetation.
In the sugar beet industry, beet pile temperature can be better controlled if covered with straw or corn stalks. It can also shoot bedding into poultry barns.

Moisture tester
Protimeter North America has introduced the Grainmini moisture tester that makes whole grain moisture measurements.
The tester has a 100-gram measuring cell that holds the grain sample. No measuring or weighing is necessary,
Once full, a twist of the lid completes the process and the moisture reading is ready.
The unit has automatic temperature correction and measures grain in the range of 10 to 35 percent moisture.
It measures moisture in wheat, barley, canola, corn, soybean and sorghum.

Seed cleaner
QAL Companies has introduced a new grain and seed cleaner.
Using low energy, the Vibroclean has a specially engineered dual vibrator system that shakes and sifts grains while moving them in an elliptical fashion on three sq. metres of trash removal and fines screens.
The unit can handle 400 bushels an hour cleaning for seed or 2,000 bushels an hour for upgrading.
The all-steel unit has framed screens for most grains and oilseeds, including wheat, canola and grass seed.
Its features include a roll feed, anti-bridging inlet hopper, screen table angle adjustment and vibrator speed and thrust controls.
