Hopper fits on semitrailer

The Airseeder Hopper allows operators to make full use of their semitrailers. The hopper mounts to where the old hopper was.

It is lightweight plastic, 31 centimetres high, and it is available for all 18 cm augers on airseeders. It has mounted wheels.

Because it eliminates extra transfer augers, it protects delicate crops from cracking.

It helps in the mixing of inoculants and seed treatments.

Mower does tight turns

UP-Scale Automotive Sales has introduced a Woods residential mower that features zero-radius turns.

The R1540 Mow’n Machine has a twin blade cutting system that mows a one-metre-wide swath. Its flex and float system follows the contours of the lawn, avoiding scalping.

It is equipped with a 15 horsepower Briggs and Stratton air-cooled, single cylinder gasoline engine and electric starter.

The Hydrostatic drive system transfers power from the steering handles to the drive wheels.

Other versions are available with gas or diesel engines and cutting deck widths ranging from one metre to 1.57 m. Accessories include snowblowers, cabs, sweepers, grass catchers and dozer blades.

No disturbance next spring

The Harrison Parallel Disc Seeder-Bander is designed to allow the direct application of seed and fertilizer into soil without disturbance and with no side draft.

The system has two parallel discs. A coulter disc cuts a furrow into the soil while a concave disc holds the furrow open. The concave disc is offset 7.6 centimetres (three inches) back, allowing the coulter to dig about 21Ú2 cm (one inch) deeper in the ground.

The packer wheel is designed with a 45-degree bevel to pack vertically and horizontally. The laminated packer wheel is adjustable through the addition or removal of 1Ú2 cm (1Ú4 in.) rings.

The packer wheel can also be modified to act as a coulter and can cut a furrow 2.5 cm (one in.) below and to the side of the seed position. This allows for side banding of fertilizer and angle-directional packing of the seedbed.

The system is being refined and a patent is pending. The designer hopes to have units built for the 2000 seeding season.

Splitter lines up logs

Bachtold has introduced a new log splitter.

The TRG-26 has a “bring-it-back” log tray that eliminates the need to carry the unsplit section of larger logs back onto the splitter.

The tray extends and retracts with the hydraulic cylinder to carry the log while splitting it and brings back the unsplit section to be split again. The tray has a 91-kilogram capacity and holds logs up to 66 centimetres long.

It also has a splitting wedge for efficient long shearing even in knotty twisted wood.

For durability, the gear pump is located inside the hydraulic fluid tank so it is continuously bathed in warm fluid. It is equipped with a Briggs and Stratton five horsepower engine or an optional 5.5 h.p. overhead Honda unit.
