Bale handler
The Automatic Stack Saver by Westendorf Manufacturing Co. is designed to handle large bales quickly and easily. It uses a patented bale spear to hold the bales steady while stacking or retrieving bales from a stack.
Models are available for large square bales and round bales. The round-bale model uses a metal push plate that pushes against the bale when unloading.
The machine uses a simple design that minimizes the number of hoses, couplers, valves and cylinders. The Stack Saver fits most models of front-end loaders and is available in various tine configurations to suit any handling need. Streptomycin 17 registered
Streptomycin 17 fungicide has been granted interim registration for the 2004 growing season by the Pest Management Regulatory Agency.
The fungicide is used to control fireblight in pears and apples.
Fungicide application may begin when trees are at 20-30 percent bloom. The recommended concentration is 100 ppm or 600 grams in 1,000 litres of water. The fungicide may be applied up to three times per season with a pre-harvest interval of 50 days in apples and 30 days in pears. The fungicide comes in a package of 10 one-kilogram cases. Row planter
Kinze Manufacturing Inc. has a new implement capable of planting row crops at 24, 32 or 36 rows on 30-inch spacings. The Kinze 3800 planter comes in 60-, 80- and 90-foot models. The pull-type planter has a seven by seven inch tool bar with a six row centre section and various reinforced wing configurations. It has excellent flotation and manoeuvrability.
The planter is designed to accommodate optional fertilizer tank attachments. It also features electric and hydraulic control for clutches, markers, lift functions and folding.
Electronic seed monitors analyze seed flow and planting data.
