Bale movers
Vermeer has introduced a series of hydraulically powered, self-loading bale movers designed to reduce fuel, labor and equipment costs and improve bale-handling efficiency.
The Vermeer 500 and 700 Bale Movers have a hydraulic system that packs bales in-line . The cab-mounted control system allows the operator to load, transport and unload bales without leaving the tractor seat.
Both models come with chain rails and side-loading picking forks. They adjust to different bale sizes.
A stabilizer wheel automatically engages and retracts for increased stability on hilly terrain.

Bale handler
FalCan Industries has introduced the FalCan Multi Deck to handle round bales.
The bale-handling unit has two tipping cylinders, allowing smooth movement of the arms and a heavier load. A closed hydraulic system prevents spillage around air vents. It also has sides along the length of the deck, tie down rails on both sides, a pop-up gooseneck ball and a headache rack protecting the rear of the cab.
The service area is at the rear of the deck. Wiring is enclosed.
The unit can also handle the FalCan Dumpster, which self dumps off the arms of the Multi Deck.
Multi Deck is available in 2.7 metres (eight feet, five inch) to 3.2 m (10 feet, five in.) lengths with standard or telescoping arms.

Fresh air system
Whiteshire/Hamroc has introduced a new air system that brings fresh, tempered air past the animals and out through the manure pit in hog barns.
The AirWorks system uses Aerotech exhaust fans to pull fresh air into a special ventilation chamber, which functions as a high-volume heat exchanger.
The tempered air is ducted through the attic and down into a hallway. From there, the air is routed into individual rooms through the ceiling in a duct network that has multiple inlets within a single duct design.
The air is distributed evenly over the pigs before being drawn down through the floor into the pit. The stale air, along with pit odor, is exhausted from the pit by fans in the ventilation chamber.
The company says that in comparative tests with all natural chimney systems, the AirWorks system reduced birth to market times by an average of 15 days and reduced death losses.
