Tight-turning tractors

Agco has developed a new series of tractors for farm and ranch operators. The Valtra A series of farm tractors offers a tight turning radius for enclosed areas and features a front-rear weight ratio that provides ideal balance when using a front-end loader.

The tractors come in three models with horsepower ratings between 70 and 100 and are suited for use in feedlots and haying operations. The tractors are powered by three-cylinder or four cylinder, turbocharged SisuDiesel engines that deliver maximum torque at only 1,400 rpm.

Vaccine for cattle

Pyramid FP 5 is a new five-way, modified-live vaccine for use in open beef and dairy cattle from Wyeth Animal Health. It aids in preventing illness associated with bovine virus diarrhea (BVD) types 1 and 2, infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR), parainfluenza type 3 (PI3) and bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV). These diseases are all considered to be potential factors in the development of various forms of respiratory disease such as bacterial pneumonia in cattle. The vaccine is applied through a single-dose subcutaneous administration.

Pyramid FP5 also features the Metastim adjuvant system, which increases immunological response by enhancing antigen presentation. Metastim gives this vaccine the unique ability to protect the vaccine antigen from being bound and rendered ineffective by pre-existing circulating antibodies, whether that be a maternal antibody in the young calf or an antibody created by previous exposure or vaccination in older cattle. This allows better immune stimulation from vaccination in spite of pre-existing immunity.

For more information about Pyramid FP 5 with One Dose BRSV Protection, contact a veterinarian or Wyeth Animal Health representative.

Make loaders level

Westendorf Manufacturing has a self-levelling Level-Matic kit that can be added to Westendorf TA-26 or TA-26 Plus loaders.

The system, commonly known as parallel linkage, is a low-profile, self leveller designed to maintain maximum operator visibility and lift capacity.

The system is easy to install and requires no additional hydraulic cylinders. Once installed, the kit ensures that the pallet fork or bucket is always at the correct angle.
