New truck line

The 4900 EX LowMax from Western Star Trucks is a version of the 4900 EX

heavy-duty truck with lower cab and sleeper height.

The reduced front area improves aerodynamics and the low centre of

gravity improves road handling. The lower step height also makes access

to the cab easier.

It is available as a highway tractor in 132 inch bumper-to-back-of-cab

dimension with a set forward front axle.

Standard equipment includes a 1,300 sq. inch cross flow radiator. A low

Livestock bedding system

Stock-Guard from Sunpine Forest Products is a dry bedding system for

livestock.

The company says the cost of the wood-based product is comparable to

straw bedding, but is easier to use, easier to clean and doesn’t break

down as easily as straw.

It has been used in the cattle industry for a while and is now being

adopted by hog producers using hoop roof dry sow barns. Users say the

ammonia smell is reduced and there is less dust.

Sunpine will arrange regular deliveries to match producers’ bedding and

cleaning schedules.

The material can be handled with regular farm equipment. It

incorporates into fields and can be spread at greater volumes than

straw.

For more information, contact Sunpine Forest Products, Box 1, Sundre,

Alta., T0M 1X0, phone 888-786-7463 or fax 403-638-2030.

Removable fence posts

Rowswell Agro has come up with a solution to broken fence posts on

Texas gates.

The removable post and bumper system provides an extra five feet of

gate width as well as flexibility in the event of being struck by an

oil truck or snow plow.

The posts are available as an add-on to new or existing gates.

They come with a quick attach wire system, reflectors and optional

shear pin assembly.

For more information, contact Rowswell Agro at Box 87, Cut Knife,

Sask., S0M 0N0, or phone or fax 306-398-2910.

Baler unplugger

The Inforcer is a baler attachment designed to clear plugs without the

operator leaving the cab.

It is a push bar on a railing system that is hydraulically activated.

It will unplug rough or stalky hay and start a bale in hay that is

light and slippery.

The Inforcer unplugs the baler by exerting pressure in the mouth of the

baler to force the plug through.

It installs behind the hitch and above the pickup with little

modification needed to the baler. The kit comes with mounting

instructions and hardware.

Kits are now available for Case 3650 and 8480, New Idea 4865 and 486,

Hesston 514 and 518, Avco 486, and John Deere 530 and 535. Kits for

other balers will be available soon.

1090, Roblin, Man., R0L 1P0 or Sund Manufacturing at 800-334-7863, or
