20 gauge welding wire
J.W. Harris of Mason, Ohio, has introduced Twenty Gauge, a powdered wire that doesn’t burn through thin sheet metal during welding.
Excessive heat and heavy wire from 220-volt boxes and even 110-volt welders can burn holes through the light material and cause waves to form across the thin metal skins.
Twenty Gauge is filled with de-oxidizers that allow it to weld on rusted and greasy material.
The light wire produces little slag and forms small beads.
While the product won’t fill a worn pin socket or reunite a severed drawbar hitch, it makes fast work of joining two pieces of sheet steel. It will weld thicknesses from 28 gauge to 3/16 of an inch.

Waterer
SPI Industries has a new energy-free waterer.
The 352NG is made of polyethylene with polyurethane insulation.
The low profile design and hinged door provides animals better access to water.
The combination of water gasket and foam gasket provides an airtight seal between the lid and base. The unit has a set back seal and drain to help counteract problems with door freeze up.
The lid is held down with quick- release D clips.
The drinking height is 38 centimetres. It can hold up to 83 litres and is appropriate for up to 150 beef cattle, 70 dairy cattle, 200 hogs, 70 horses or 250 sheep.

Multi terrain loader
Caterpillar’s new 287 multi terrain loader combines the upper portion of the Cat 262 skid steer loader with a rubber-track undercarriage.
Its operating weight is 9,860 pounds but ground pressure is only 3.8 lb. per sq. inch.
The turbocharged Cat 3034T diesel is rated at 74 net horsepower. It has a high-output hydrostatic drive and anti-stall system.
The rubber track system has 42 wheel contact points. Tracks are 18 inches wide and have a 72.5 inch footprint.
The linkage has two additional links per side to allow the loader arms to move forward during the lift cycle, providing 55 percent more reach when fully raised than with a radial lift loader. When lowered, the reach is the same as a radial lift loader.
Work tools can be changed quickly and easily with the standard mechanical or optional hydraulic quick coupler system.
