New header
MacDon Industries’ new 972 Harvest Header is designed to handle up to 60 feet of unconditioned hay crop per pass when mounted on a MacDon-built windrowing tractor or New Holland bidirectional tractor.
When mounted on a MacDon 741 Hay Conditioner, it can handle 25 feet of conditioned crop.
A C-shaped cutter bar forms a seal that protects the front edge of the draper, extending its life. It has a low profile to cut close to the ground, heavy duty SBR rubber skim-coated drapers and a tensioning system that works in conjunction with MacDon’s V-Guide draper for proper alignment.

Potato fungicide
Cyanamid has a fungicide to help control early and late blight in potatoes.
Acrobat MZ is designed to control A1 and A2 strains, including those resistant to metalaxyl.
It contains mancozeb and dimethomorph that deliver a combination of contact, penetrant and systemic action against blight in the leaves and on the stems. Its systemic action means it works even if hit by rain after application.
Acrobat MZ is designed to be used in conjunction with conventional contact fungicides and should be part of a preventative program. It can’t cure an infected crop.
Cyanamid also says the product prevents tuber blight spores, protecting against storage losses.

Grain level monitor
Caradon has introduced a new tool to view the level of grain in a bin.
The Grain Gauge is a standard feature on the Caradon Grain Vault bin and is available as a retrofit for other bins made of narrow corrugated metal.
It mounts in a hole cut into the top wall sheet of the bin. Made of durable, clear Lexan, it will not crack or yellow.
The design and reflective tape help to make the gauge readable at night.

Wheat weed control
Rhone-Poulenc has introduced Platinum, a product designed for one-pass weed control in wheat.
Platinum is a package containing Horizon wild oat tank-mix herbicide, Score adjuvant and Buctril M.
All are liquid formulations designed for easy mixing and application.
Platinum will control wild oats and a range of broadleaf weeds including wild buckwheat, mustard and volunteer canola.
One case of Platinum treats 20 acres.
