Seed cleaner

The Adasco model 150 seed and grain cleaner is new for 1995. It is a three-screen machine: two upper scalping screens and one lower screen for fines removal. The upper screens are four sq. feet (0.3 sq. metres) each and the lower measures six sq. feet(0.5 metres). A large diameter fan blows air through the grain as it falls between scalping and sifting. The fan speed can be controlled independently of the machine speed. Power is provided by a 1.4 horsepower farm-duty motor.

These machines are constructed of 18-mm exterior plywood, reinforced with heavy-gauge steel. All individual parts are painted prior to assembly. Capacity is 150 bushels per hour when cleaning larger-seeded crops such as soybeans or corn, while about 110 bushels per hour of cereal crops like wheat, oats or barley can be cleaned. Alfalfa or grass seed can be cleaned at about 1,000 lbs. (454.5 kg) an hour. All machines are shipped fully assembled.

Screens are available for virtually any seed. Adasco also sells the model 300 cleaner, which can process 300 bushels of corn or soybeans in an hour or 220 bushels of cereal crops. Contact: Adasco Inc., P.O. Box 494, Spring Park, Minn. 55384; tel. 612-471-0672.

Digital pressure gauges

Power Team’s new Digital Pressure Gauge offers accuracy within one percent. Large red LED’s (in 10 psi or bar increments) display pressure value characteristics. A slow flashing display indicates pressure below the low limit while a fast blinking display indicates pressure exceeding the high limit.

Other features include a “peak pressure” capture mode with reset toggle switch and a “peak on” indicator. A high-low set point relay outputs for high-low alarms and/or control signals. The gauge is calibrated from 0-10,000 psi, while the metric version is calibrated 0-690 barometric pressure. The gauge is designed to operate on a 12-volt AC/DC current. An AC transformer (115 to 12 volt) with two-metre long power cord is included.

Shielded boom for Rogators

Ag Shield Manufacturing has developed a version of its patented, shielded boom system to fit Rogator series high-clearance sprayers. The kits “virtually eliminate” drift problems.

The system has other benefits: the rigid front shield gently opens crop canopies so that spray reaches weeds, diseases or insects that can be out of reach of open booms or partial-shield systems. Ag Shields create a swirl within their chambers which concentrates the spray pattern. Plants are coated with chemical.

Kits are available to fit suspended booms on Rogator machines which will not slow operating speeds, including quick changeovers between transport and field mode. Instead of a kit, Rogator owners can also choose wheeled booms that hug the ground in field mode and trail in transport mode. Contact: Ag Shield Manufacturing, Box 9, Benito, Man.
