Disease book

The third edition of Diseases of Field Crops In Canada has been published.

The new edition is 60 percent larger than the previous one, with 304 pages and 659 colour illustrations to assist in disease diagnosis.

“It is almost a new book,” said Robin Morrall of the University of Saskatchewan’s biology department and one of the book’s editors.

Since the 1988 revision of the original 1984 book, a host of new crops has gained prominence, from pulses such as chickpeas to spices such as coriander and oilseeds such as borage. The diseases that affect these new crops are now included in the book.
