Bale storage system

A new bale storage system is available from AT Plastics Inc. and Alberta Ag-Industries Ltd.

The Agripac Lastic Tuber can produce baled silage or store cured dry hay bales.

The machine has its own power supply and hydraulic system. Bales are placed on the hydraulically powered feed table and automatically encased in Lastic-Tube. Hydraulically operated fingers stretch folded polyethylene tubing, allowing the bales to be inserted.

The plastic seals out moisture and air. It is UV stable and is expected to withstand 12 months of exposure to sunlight.

Farmyard grass sprayer

Rogers Innovative Inc. has introduced the Turf Tower spray applicator for farmyard use.

The Turf Tower’s enclosed boom system almost eliminates spray drift.

The unit has only one application rate. It has a two metre spray width, a 19 litre tank, on-off valves and a pressure gauge.

Assistance for auger extensions

Burvee Manufacturing has completed a major redesign of its Bubble-up Auger for combine grain bin extensions.

The unit is used to help ensure the combine’s grain bin extension fills completely and reduces wear and load on the combine bin fill system.

The open flight auger has a 20-centimetre (eight-inch) diameter and is 117 centimetres (46 inches) tall. It folds into the hopper for storage.

The redesign was to make the unit easier to install. It now takes an hour or less, the company says. The Bubble-up fits all makes of combines.

Round pit aeration system

Westeel has introduced a round pit aeration system.

Circ-air allows farmers to aerate up to 130 percent more of their bin floor than is possible with a square pit, without increasing costs.

It allows users to choose the amount of aeration performance from 33 to 76 percent of the bin’s floor area, the company says.

The system is compatible with all current models of grain bins. It installs flush with the bin floor.

The company says Circ-air needs less concrete than a typical square pit system and if the Westeel Seal Form foundation system is used, it can be installed with only one pour of concrete.
