Fungicide emergency use
The foliar fungicide Quadris from Syngenta has received an emergency
use registration for control of ascochyta blight in chickpeas in
Alberta.
Alberta Agriculture asked the Pest Management Regulatory Agency to
grant the emergency use registration.
“It’s hard to predict what the severity of ascochyta will be this year,
but the emergency use registration will ensure Quadris is available to
Alberta chickpea growers should they need it,” said Shaffeek Ali,
leader of the provincial department’s pest risk management unit.
Quadris received emergency registration in Saskatchewan in May.
