Six-rotor tedder
New Holland’s six-rotor tedder is designed to fluff and spread large acreage hay crops in minimal time. Its working width of almost 23 feet allows producers to cover three unraked swaths with each pass, depending on the windrow shield setting.
For legumes, the wide-pass option lets operators ted larger acreages before leaves are dry and shatter-prone. In grass crops, multiple-pass tedding makes better use of short drying periods. Keeping the crop spread and fluffed repeatedly can get the hay dry sooner for baling.
The 169 model has crank-adjusted tine clearance and a hinged, articulated frame to follow field contours. Right or left-side tedding is possible and drive lines are slip-clutch protected. Contact: Bob Hatz, Ford New Holland product manager, 717-355-1371, or a local dealer.

Friendly fly tape
Hess and Clark, Inc. has introduced a product to help control flies in animal premises. Sticky Roll is a 25.6-metre reel of white polypropylene tape coated with a sticky, clear resin that contains no insecticide. Flies stick to the tape.
The hardware kit includes an empty take-up reel, two metal reel holders and three pulleys, which allow different hanging configurations. When a cycle of the tape is full of flies, it is cranked onto the disposable take-up reel and fresh tape rolls out at the same time. When a full reel of tape has been used, it can be thrown away, and the empty one used as the take-up reel for a new roll.
